While our Tier-2 centers in the US are still sitting at some ten Petabyte disk storage, and our subMIT system at just barely 457 TB storage, CERN has broken into the Exabyte disk storage category, and they have done so using the CERN EOS file system.

While it is unlikely we are going anywhere near such volume sizes on subMIT itself it might be a good idea to see what we can learn and what storage technology is in the end the one we want to use. Is EOS actually an option?
