This required temporarily taking parts of the system offline\u2014but it was worth it!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here\u2019s what\u2019s new:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Operating System Update:<\/strong> All nodes have been upgraded from <strong>AlmaLinux 9.4 to 9.5<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>cgroups v2 Enabled:<\/strong> The system now uses <strong>cgroups v2<\/strong> for improved resource control and future compatibility.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Slurm Upgrade:<\/strong> We&#8217;ve upgraded <strong>Slurm from version 22.05 to 24.11<\/strong>, fully configured to use <strong>cgroups v2<\/strong>. This brings better resource accounting and will allow us to include CPUs currently reserved for system processes into the regular Slurm partitions in the near future.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>NVIDIA Driver Update:<\/strong> GPU nodes are now running the latest <strong>NVIDIA drivers<\/strong> for improved stability and performance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>CephFS Upgrade:<\/strong> Our storage backend has been upgraded from <strong>CephFS 19.2.1 to 19.2.2<\/strong>, including minor bug fixes and stability improvements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please let us know if you encounter any issues or have questions.
