He comes to us from CERN in Geneva, Switzerland, but he is no stranger to MIT. He did his Ph.D. at MIT with the CMS group and was one of the crucial members of the 2012 Higgs discovery team at the CMS experiment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He has just today taken over the leadership of the subMIT project and is in charge to form the Users Group in the coming weeks to establish a strong community around the basic computing services in the physics department.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"739\" height=\"692\" src=\"https:\/\/submit06.mit.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/JB.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-89\" srcset=\"https:\/\/submit.mit.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/JB.jpg 739w, https:\/\/submit.mit.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/JB-300x281.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 739px) 100vw, 739px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Josh Bendavid joins MIT as a Research Scientist at the Laboratory for Nuclear Science.
